As many of you know, I traveled to Diriamba, Nicaragua August 6-12, 2011 on a mission trip with seven others from my church.  It was AMAZING!!!  I’ve wanted to share all of my experiences with you, but haven’t known where to start.  There’s so much to tell.  I have an album on facebook that has a lot of pictures with some info and comments, but I thought I would post this video as well.  We visited 3 schools and shared 3 different topics with different ages.  We were able to distribute Jesus Story/Jesus In Me books, along with crowns/backpacks, candy, etc.  My heart was touched at these schools.  We also visited an orphanage and spent an afternoon there sharing The Jesus Story and playing with them.  Some of these children were handicapped and needed round the clock care.  Some were abandoned and some were just unable to live with their families.  They really enjoyed us being there.  We were able to visit a home for abused girls.  I was astonished to see that the ages ranged from 9 – 19…..My heart just broke for these girls.  We shared with them about how precious they are to us and to God.  We shared the scripture that says God “fashioned” women (He created man).  We were able to show them love without anything in return.  We pampered them with pedicures and manicures (which was a “good touch experience”, which can be a struggle for these girls).  One girl in particular (9 yrs old) just would not smile.  She was so sad.  But when I pulled out my camera at the end to get her with her nails, she smiled.  It was so joyous!!!  Our last 2 days, we went into the “homes” of Nicaraguan people.  I call these homes, but they were really garbage bags or tin over sticks.  Some of them live or have lived at the public dump.  They don’t have much food or jobs.  We brought them bags of food/items…..which got us in their door so that we could share from our hearts about Christ and our life in Him.  All in all, it was a very awesome week.  I have plans to go back (maybe with Nate next time).  I wish I could tell you some of the stories, but it would take so long to write it all.  I hope you feel the love that was experienced as you watch this slideshow.
